What does the CEC mean to you?
Janie Hayes - President
So far, nothing feels more important than working locally in Chaffee to identify and combat systemic inequities that deprive many of the opportunities to achieve a better future. By working together, I believe we can better ensure that everyone in our community has what they need to not only live here, but thrive.
Jen Swan - Vice President
To me the Community Equity Coalition is a way to channel my many emotions about inequity and social injustices into action. I am energized and excited to focus on making positive changes in our community by building relationships across the board.
Julie Anderson - Secretary
I am grateful to assist in bringing about an organization to advocate, educate, problem solve and stretch our understanding of how this community can be more equitable and welcoming.
I see this applying to our community and see possibility in the powerful actions we can take right here to effect change.
Kerstin Stock - Treasurer
As a fortunate resident of Chaffee county and community, I am grateful to support the work of equity. It is important to amplify the voices of those not often heard for a more inclusive and diverse community. Together we go further.
David Brainer
I believe in a Chaffee county community that is safe, accountable, caring, and welcoming. Let’s make sure together that all people experience this.
Hannah Brainer
The CEC is my safe space: it is my place to ask questions and make mistakes on behalf of a community I have come to cherish. As the primary spotlight writer, I want everyone to feel as open to the possibility of liberation and love that I feel is perfectly attainable within our city and within our world.
Nick Ryder
To me the Community Equity Coalition is a way for myself and others to help shape the future of Chaffee County. Allowing all that live and visit this beautiful place to feel welcome and furthermore, celebrated!
Andrea Schulz-Ward
Helping with the CEC is my way of changing the community that I love. Making our community more equitable positively impacts everyone that lives and visits our county and the surrounding area.
